Demand for Exhibition Space is still Increasing

bauma China 2006: Demand for Exhibition Space is still Increasing

  • Number of Chinese participants at bauma China 2006 increases by at least 40 percent
  • China’s economy is still growing rapidly
  • Trade between China and Germany booms

With four months to go, the demand for exhibition space for bauma China 2006, which opens its gates from 21 to 24 November at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, is still increasing. At bauma China 2004, 232 Chinese exhibitors participated in the international trade fair for building and building materials machines, construction vehicles and building equipment. For 2006, 323 Chinese companies have already applied. That means an increase of nearly 40 percent.

All these remarkable developments did not come like a bolt from the blue. In the 1970’s, China’s economy was opened to the rest of the world. Since then, China has been developing rapidly, becoming one of the most interesting global economic partners worldwide.

Even though today China keeps co-operations with many leading industrialized countries, Germany and China always had a special economic relationship. Germany is still the biggest European trade partner for China. In addition, Germany is one of the most important main recipients for China worldwide as well as a top exporter to China. Nowadays, more and more German companies expand their Chinese engagement in order to co-operate closely on projects like the Transrapid or Luchao Harbour City, which’s completion is planned for 2020.
